Compensation:

Commensurate with salary range on the DCPS salary schedule 7660

Hours Per Day: 7.5

Contracted Days: 261

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

·         High School Diploma or G.E.D. and three years of related experience.

·         Demonstrated ability to learn, apply, and utilize HRIS systems to meet employees’ needs.

 

Preferred:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

 

Knowledge Of:

· Proficient computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites.

· HRIS such as Munis, KHRIS, training systems, benefit platforms, and employee record systems is desired.

· Health and Cafeteria Plans

· Retirement plan options

· Terminology and procedures associated with day-to-day benefit administration

· Understanding of payroll practices as it relates to assigned duties

· Short and long-range planning techniques applicable to area of specialty

· Record-keeping techniques

· Effective communication methods

· Research methods and report writing techniques

· Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities

· Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities

· Principles of training

· Technical aspects of field of specialty.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Provide employee support as part of the Human Resources Department with a customer service mindset.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

· Conduct day to day benefits transactions for health and cafeteria plans including, but not limited to, new hire enrollments, qualifying events, and terminations.

· Counsel employees on benefit options using various methods. (In-person, one-on-one, group, phone, email, virtual meeting platforms, etc.)

· Provide customer service to employees using tact, patience and courtesy.

· Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all matters.

· Respond to employee requests and questions in a timely manner.

· Maintain electronic records with accuracy.

· Perform data entry in multiple electronic HRIS systems with accuracy.

· Compile reports on a routine and as needed basis.

· Meet expectations of third-party vendors associated with the District.

· Assist with processing and tracking federal and board leave requests.

· Assist with tracking and completion of required annual employee training.

· Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

· Coordinate with other departments/positions to accomplish assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.

· Run and evaluate benefit related reports to ensure benefits compliance.

· Assist with Worker’s Compensation to provide services to District employees.

· Participate in and provide data for the District’s employee safety program.

· Coordinate Open Enrollment on an annual basis.

· Assist with the communication of employee programs and benefit requirements to employees.

· Prepare, maintain and distribute informational materials to employees as needed.

· Cross-train to serve as back-up to other department positions as needed.
